"Don't let your kids watch it!"

The category's list of articles that have mature content that may be unsuitable for all ages. This does not always mean that the article itself or its contents are mature, but the subject of media is mature and often controversial. We will not be responsible for those who read the pages and are offended because they chose to view the article that was categorized as such. Please do so at your own risk.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that this template is only used for recommended for AO/M-rated games, NC-17/R-rated movies, and TV-MA shows. However, if a work contains content and/or themes that are unsuitable for younger audiences (children and pre-teens), there may be some exceptions to this rule, even if it doesn't have the above ratings. For example:

Films:

  • Citizen Kane is a drama film that's meant to criticize the pursuit the money and power, with a central main character who serves as an expy of media mogul William Randolph Hearst. However, there's also a beat where Charles Kane has a sexual affair with another woman, leading to a scandal, and eventually becomes a domestic abuser towards his second wife.
  • Cat People is a horror film which, despite having a PG rating, contains implicit themes of bestiality in folklore, sexual repression, seduction, temptation, the correlation between sexual titillation and violence, and possible lesbian undertones.
  • The Graduate is a coming-of-age film about a recent college graduate trying to find out what to do with his life. However, Benjamin is seduced by his parents' friend, starts an affair with her, and falls in love with her daughter. And yet, the film has a PG rating, despite its themes of adultery and flashes of brief nudity. (Then again, the PG-13 rating didn't exist at the time.) This is probably why the film has a TV-MA rating on television airing.
  • The Conversation is a 1974 neo-noir mystery thriller film that was written, produced, and released before and during the Watergate era, and its claustrophobic themes of the destruction of privacy, alienation, guilt, voyeurism, justified paranoia, unprincipled corporate power, and personal responsibility effectively responded to growing, ominous 20th-century threats of eavesdropping to personal liberties. Despite the film's PG rating, the content within it is intended for older viewers, as it may distress younger viewers.

TV Shows:

  • Toddlers and Tiaras is a reality television series that's infamous for having children (especially underaged girls) forced to wear revealing outfits and do sexually suggestive poses, and having cruel, and abusive parents. Thus, the page has the Mature template, despite the show having a TV-PG rating.

NOTE 2: Works that are targeted for younger audiences (i.e.: Teen Titans Go!, Ed, Edd n Eddy, etc) aren't allowed to have the template, regardless of whether they contain disturbing or inappropriate content.

IMPORTANT: Mature pages are those that are recommended for people who are at least 18 years or older but can be viewed at any age as long as they're comfortable with the graphic material.
